My in-house Comedian

Dallin is making me laugh every day. I am loving this age.
I'm always interested to see what drawings come home from church. This was todays:
In case it's not clear (which I can't imagine anyone thinking), this is "Daddy on his skateboard getting hit in the eye by a bolt of lightning." Wow. I'm speechless.

Evan and I hired a babysitter a few weeks ago and we came home and found this:

I don't know how that is comfortable! I took them off after taking this picture and the groove marks were deep!

Target had this Batman shaving kit on clearance so I picked it up. Here is D and his best buddy shaving:

One sunny but very cold January day, Dallin insisted because it was sunny that he have a picnic. I sent him out on his own. I think he lasted five minutes, but boy was he happy!

We're still talking a lot about heaven. The other day he asked if he could pray that Heavenly Father would help him grow wings, like an angel so he could fly. The questions have moved into the creation. "Did Heavenly Father make my house? Did Heavenly Father make me? Did Heavenly Father make my bathroom?"

Friday we headed to the awesome San Francisco Academy of Science. On the way there Dallin was telling me a story about how he wanted to ride on a t-rex dinosaur. Imagine our excitement when we walk in the museum and there is a t-rex right there! I love the excitement and imagination. (Because my bag was so packed of essentials and we took public transit, the camera didn't make the cut) I mean really, do adults daydream of riding dinosaurs?!

Thad is...gulp...Six Months!

Seriously. Could it go any faster? Thad is 6 months. I can't find the stats from the dr. visit. But, he's still got some Marquardson height (90th percentile) and weight is about the same. He is 18 pounds, 12 ounces and I think he would have been an even 19 if he hadn't peed all over me, the floor and the nurse as soon as he got on the scale! What we learned though is that he does have some Gilstrap too! That's right, the head measurement put him in the 95th percentile. I love these big noggins :)

Here he is after his first tastes of rice cereal: ("mom, I want milk, not this bland cereal stuff!")
Thad is super smiley (which I need to capture, I just realized!). Just the other day he sat up unassisted! He's rolling around. Still no teeth. He is such a good natured baby. Only problem I have found is that he sleeps better in my bed than his crib!

Presidents Day Adventure

With Evan in school, sometimes I feel limited with holiday weekends. So this past Presidents Day Dallin, Thad and I hit the road!

After a bit of a drive, we arrived at the top of Mount Tampalpais. It was a perfectly gorgeous day with wonderful visibility. We did a brief, 20-minute hike at the top (perfect moms for strollers!) Me, with my studs:
San Francisco is in the distance on the left.

After our hike and picnic, we deserved a treat. Where else to take a chocolate-loving three-year-old than Ghirardelli. I love these pictures.

Here, the anticipation:

Ah, the arrival:

I felt a little sheepish and guilty providing my three-year-old with an adult sized sundae..I also felt like, hey, this is really fun!

Can you believe he finished it all without help? I can!

I love these boys! What a fun Presidents Day!!

Saturday is a special day...?

My next post was going to be my "Thad is 6 Months!" post, but it's been busy. So that I remember this time in life, I'm going to write about my Saturday.

Wake up.
Make three different breakfasts: Kashi for me, pancakes for Dallin, rice cereal for Thad
Clean up breakfast.
Bathe both kids. Wash Dallin's hair in the kitchen sink to avoid drama (hates water in his eyes). Screams the whole time anyway..
Sort, launder and fold 5 loads of laundry. (Evan started three, thank you very much!)
Vaccuum. Clean two bathrooms--even scrubbed the shower! (one of my least favorite chores)
Drop off T-ball registration to replace the one that got lost in the mail.
Shop at REI for a bike for Dallin's birthday.
Check out the San Jose Shark's Ice skating rink I've driven by a hundred times always thinking "I wonder if there's really an ice skating rink?"
Serve lunch. Clean up lunch.
Evan leaves for school at noon.
In the car to Palo Alto (still miss living there!). Run two errands with my two kiddos. Nordstrom. Dallin new shoes (size 9 now! I guess there was some truth to the screaming before church last Sunday. Sorry Dallin!)
For fun: Palo Alto Childrens Museum and Zoo
Home: heat up leftovers for dinner.
Clean up, brush teach, read stories, say prayers. Thad sick. Thad not sleeping.
I re-read tomorrow's RS lesson. I start preparing my lesson for next week.
3am I turn off the alarm that's set for 7am. There will be no church for me and Thad tomorrow.

Sound like a special day?!? Jury's out on this one..
