Okay, with nesting in full force I have been a busy girl! Promise a better update later..
Moms--need your help regarding my stroller purchase..(or if I need a new stroller??) Dallin is just about 3.5. I use my stroller for walks and trips to the mall--he really doesn't use it that often. So, do I even need a double stroller? I ordered a Phil & Ted and now I'm having doubts.
Help!

You probably won't need one all the time, buy a couple hundred dollar one, go test out which ones feel the most sturdy and fit your kids the best, a lot of people like the one with seats that switch positions....that way if you don't use it all the time you are not out a huge investment..a double stroller is nice for outting for holding all your stuff
Can you even believe we are so close to having these babies? Time has gone by so fast. I hope you are feeling good! Do you have a name yet? I've been thinking about the double stroller issue, too. I think I'm going to wait until springtime and then get a side-by-side umbrella. I figure we won't be going out much this winter, especially now that we live where it snows. And if we do go somewhere where I'd like to have Jenna in a stroller, I can put her in the one we already have and put the baby in the snuggli. But those Phil & Teds look awesome and I'm sure you'll love it. Keep us posted on all things Gilstrap! We miss you guys!
My vote is yes. I remember times when one of my kids was "out of control" and the other one was showing signs of following suit... I was so glad to have a stroller to strap both in and exit immediately! You may not use it often, but when you do, it is a lifesaver!
By the time my kids are 3.5 they rarely want to actually sit in a stroller, but prefer to get in and out at their leisure. It makes putting them in a double kind of a chore. I really like the sit and stand ones. Although they don't look like the comfiest seat for the toddler, at least they allow them the sitting/resting, standing, hopping on and off abilities that they love. And the baby has a safe place to ride. I'm not sure if the bill and ted have that feature, but if I was buying a double for those ages, that's what I would look for.
Good luck on the upcoming birth. And I love your van! Congrats :)
I wish I had a double jogger. That is worth it, I think. But a double regular stroller we don't have and I don't think I'd use. We just use our one man stroller for Lucie, and John knows to hold on to the side of the stroller when we're out. That way he can walk. We borrowed a double stroller when we were in CA and it was nice, but i just don't go shopping with both kids all that much. But we do live in Driggs!!
I have the double Bob and it rocks. But I have a different age situation...
Hey Carrie! I followed the link from Carrie Anne's blog. I didn't know you were in the Bay Area. (If you don't remember, I was Carrie Anne's room mate freshman year.) We live in south San Jose (just moved from near downtown). My kids are 6 and 3.5. When my son was born, my daughter was about 2.5. I think a double stroller is a must. I have one that I absolutely love. In fact, I still use it for long walks. I had problems with the older one running off in the store when I was shopping. After losing her a couple times I told my husband I could not take the kids anywhere by myself until I got a double stroller. Here's a link to the stroller I have. http://www.gracobaby.com/Search%20Results/Pages/Search.aspx?search=duorider#/1537
It's great because the handle goes all the way across so you can push it with one hand and it has a big basket in the bottom. I used to just stick groceries in there when I was shopping and not use a cart. Both seats recline all the way, too. We used it for a trip to Disneyland and it was awesome. If you want to check mine out, I'd be happy to let you. My son is about the same age as yours. Maybe we could get together to play.
BTW, my blog is goggysblog.blogspot.com.
